I have done this with my day home kids for the past 2 years. The first year, all caterpillars attached properly and all butterflies emerged healthy. Last year, 2 chrysali didn't attach to the towel so I laid them on the bottom. Both emerged deformed and it was sad for us to see, but a life lesson. Great learning experience.
