Time Line Instructions
|
Invite students to make
a time line of important events in their lives (or a famous person's life).
Have them label each flap with a year or certain time period. They can
list and illustrate important events on the inside. The number of flaps
will vary.
Use the flip-flap pattern to make other little books focusing on any
concept.

About This Product
Teachin' Cheap will show how to use inexpensive materials for a multitude of
student projects that can be used with any curriculum area, theme, or skill.
In fact, variations of each project can be used over and over throughout the
year. These easy-to-make projects require very little teacher preparation, and
students find them motivating and fun.
Teachin' Cheap is organized according to the materials used-bags, sacks, boxes,
and paper. The reproducible shapes on pages 98-111 coordinate with many of the
suggested activities.
The bag, sack, and box projects are perfect for organizing and storing student
work. They can also be used for center activities and attractive 3-D bulletin
board displays. There are five different paper projects: Flip-Flaps, Slit Books,
Poof Books, Tri-Folds, and Fold-Overs. These projects allow children choice
and variety in how they "show what they know" about a particular skill or topic.
The over 200 specific activity suggestions are just a start. You and your students
can take these ideas, adapt them to meet your needs, and create new ones using
the same inexpensive materials. This book is not the complete resource; it is
only the beginning!
