Celebration Keepsake

Description
As students make a keepsake of a special event, they learn how to plan and organize, follow directions, make written and oral explanations

Materials Needed

two clear, plastic cups
glue or tape
small objects
paper
pencil
yarn
scissors

Instructions
1. Think about a special event. (Example: a birthday, a vacation, your first school day)

2. Draw pictures of that memory or get small objects that are reminders of that event.

3. Place the pictures or items in one of the cups. Glue or tape them in place if you need to keep them from moving.

4. Hang objects by attaching a short piece of yarn to each one and taping it to the inside bottom of the other cup.

5. Put glue around the rim of one of the cups. Carefully set the other cup down on the glue to seal the cups together.

6. Write a paragraph or two telling why you selected the event.

7. Share your keepsake with your classmates.
